The Nigamananda Saraswata Ashram at Lokanath Road , Puri was established to fulfill the sacred wish of Paramahamsa Sri 108 Swami Nigamananda Saraswati Dev, the great saint who devoted his life to spreading the path of truth, devotion, and self-realization.

The foundation for this divine center was laid during the Universal Devotees’ Conference of 1961, held at the West Bengal Saraswat Ashram. In the revered presence of Swami Atmananda Saraswati Maharaj (then Trust Sabha President) and the devoted trustee of utkal vibhaga Shri Banamali Dash, the Trust Assembly passed a historic resolution to create a Utkal Divisional Ashram in Odisha.  

For this regard the Trust Board Was Formed an Executive Committee , Consisting of Members as Shri Banamali Dash, Shri Radhashyam Mohanty, Shri Durgacharan Mohanty, Shri Chaitanya Charan Das, Shri Basudev Kar, and Shri Baman Das Parida. This committee was entrusted with the sacred responsibility of identifying a suitable location in Odisha and overseeing all matters related to the construction of the divisional ashram.

In 1966 with the leadership of  shri Radhashyam mohanty and other members were purchased 2.5 acres land at Lokanath Road , Puri in the name of Assam Bangiya Saraswata Math Trust Board  with marfat-dar the then president of Trust Board Swami Atmananda saraswati . Later on, 2 acres of land were purchased in 2 times in the same name Assam Bangiya Saraswata Math Trust Board .

Since then, as per the Trust Deed, the Trust Board has been managing the Ashram, appointing  time to time the various Adhyakshas as given below :
